1950's England and the Sorting Hat of Hogwarts.

Dear Parents,
In the last week the children enjoyed investigating the rest of the story about the Gingerbread man and all his antics!

We researched how to measure accurately.

Made gingerbread gloop

E'to made a surprising likeness with the tap-tap. This is a great educational tool for fine motor-skills.

Our angry prisoners of Azkerban, the jail from Harry Potter where only the meanest of dementors go!

Lewis and E'to made a practical escape plan for the Gingerbread Man.

We found out how hard it is to balance heel-to-toe.

Rich made bridges and was joined by his friends.

Lewis was timing himself to make tessellating shapes.

The sorting hat put the children in their Hogwarts Houses.

During the course of this week we shall be trying different foods from 1950's England. Of course we started with Tea. We smelt different types, and tried a nice fragrant non-caffeine tea.

The children are enjoying their new topic of investigating a different culture. We have seen many landmarks and looked at the differences in our cultures and societies, such as what we eat, where we live, how we travel and the clothes we wear.
I hope to update you at the end of the week with some photos of International Day.

Kind regards,

Douglas and the RP Team.
