Have a listen through to Whatever Next with your child. Ask them questions about the story to check for understanding.What does he use as a helmet? Why?Which bird does he met on the way?What did they do on the moon?Why did they have to come back so soon?

See if you can make a series of patterns on planets, such as AABAAB or ABABABA patterns etc.

Write out the names of all the planets. See if your child can hear as many letters as possible. 

Ask for the first sound in the word.

Ask for the middle sound in the word.

Ask for the last sound in the word.
