Spongebob Square pants!

Dear Parents,

I hope you have enjoyed the questions your child has been asking you about space and planets.

The children enjoyed the topic very much, but are glad to have moved onto a week of Child Initiated  study of Spongebob Square pants, and learning new songs. Next term we are due to move onto plants and animals so it is a nice transition into that field of study, we are looking at creatures under the sea and how they live, looking at examples of repeated language and exploring different ways to count.

Exploring volume and new vocabulary.

How can we breathe underwater?

Friday's dress up afternoon.

Qiv is great at sharing.

We went to watch the Primary Show to see what it would be like for us later.

Fearless Hong challenging himself...

...and did so well!

A rocket travelling through space, complete with hi-tech computer engineering.

Football practice.

Ice-hockey

Designing rockets from fruit.

We filled our bucket and the class chose ice creams for their treat.

We had our rocket snacks at break :)

Hong exploring the surface of the moon.

Looking at apex's, edges and faces. We use formal mathematical words from the start of learning, there's no reason why not to.
What is an apex?

Deepman and friends building space stations. They are far developed than when they first started the topic.

We had Simon (a teacher from secondary)  come to read to us. Thanks Simon!

Exploring inference.

Realising that anything can be counted.

We got to see what Ted got up to at the beach with Peach, and welcomed him back to class. The children are enjoying our topic, and applying their new vocabulary to day to day activities. I'm glad to see all children are back in class and I'm keeping an eye out for bouts of illness with them.

Kind regards,

Douglas and the RP Team
