Welcome back!

Good afternoon, I hope everyone is well rested and ready for another term in RP!

The children have come back, talking about all sorts of visits and places they have been.

This coming fortnight we will be doing an increasing amount of child centered learning through interests such as mapping; selecting foods; familiar signs and advertising; jungles and monsters ,alongside an undercurrent of Goldilocks and the Three Bears

We will be making an Ice cream shop and tasting different types of ice cream, of which the children have taken to very creatively.

It was lovely to meet you all during the parents evening, also to put faces to children's parents and their home lives. I'm a strong believer in Parents as a Child's first Teacher and thanks to those that have come to school so far to read.
The final week of term 1.1 the children were very interested in mapping and trains, and we took this rather a long way. Preparing props, stations, ticketing systems and tickets etc. Everything you would need for a real journey (besides an actual train).

The children started with a simple design.

Adding to their venture as they saw fit.

All manner of works were created, including an onboard cafe, and a strict 'No-ticket-No-ride' policy!

I look forward to updating you on our plans and work over this term. Thank you for your continued support, and please ensure to see the weekly homework.

Kind regards,

Douglas and the RP Team
